Did you know most polls find that nearly three-fourths of Americans are worried about their finances? Yet we know God wants something better for us than fear and doubt, and we experience great joy when we’re able to use money to support God’s work in the world.
If you are concerned about your finances or yearning to find more meaning in what you do with money, we’ve got great news: MMFA is partnering with a program, Freed Up, that can help.
What is Freed Up? It’s a financial stewardship training program that offers current resources to help guide and equip people of faith to manage money in healthier ways, through Biblical wisdom.
The app addresses all components of financial stewardship. Including:
- Earning
- Giving
- Saving
- Spending
- Debt
Why does MMFA like Freed Up?
It’s for anyone in any financial situation, not just those in crisis. The course is a combination of videos, readings, and individual work completed through an app and an accompanying workbook; it pairs helpful financial tools with stewardship theology.
Why do others like it?
One of the participants in our spring class had this to say:
“I am glad I took the course and feel like I have some new tools to help our family better manage the resources God has given us. I liked the accountability and sharing in the small group.”
Another person said,
“I really appreciated the financial tools and framework. It was meaningful to have a group of thoughtful members to process the week’s materials and assignments.”
We are offering two virtual Freed Up opportunities on Tuesdays this fall from October 11 to November 15; one from 12-1 pm and the other from 7-8 pm (Eastern time). Complete each week’s content at your own pace and then join the group on Tuesdays for conversation and learning together. We are able to offer Freed Up for free to 100 people this year; you read that correctly….for free!
Want to learn more? Check out this recent post about the first week of our spring virtual class. Ready to get Freed Up? Email me (lwatson@mmfa.com) and we’ll get started. We need to have people signed up by September 26 so that there’s time for you to receive your workbook before we begin on 10/11.
Please also share Freed Up with people in your community of faith who might want to take advantage of this opportunity to have a healthier relationship with money. If you think there is a small group at your church who would want to take Freed Up together, let’s talk about finding the ideal time to create a class for you!
