On April 19 your Moravian Ministries Foundation began our first virtual Freed Up Financial Living class; we have participants from North Dakota, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania and are excited to journey together over the next five weeks.
During the first session we talked about:
- What financial freedom looks like to everyone
- Our “money motivators” (security, love, power, or freedom)
- Tracking and categorizing expenses
- Three financial stewardship indicators: generosity, cash flow, and net worth
- Feelings we have when we think about money
- And much more!
Our next session will delve into one of the traits of a biblical steward: The Diligent Earner. We’ll explore income and housing expenses with the goal of determining whether housing costs are higher than they should be based on gross income.
Deuteronomy 8:17-18 tells us,
“You may say to yourself, my power and the strength of my hands produces wealth for me, but remember the Lord your God. For it is He who gives you the ability to produce well.”
As faithful stewards we know all we have is God’s, and as diligent earners, we use our finances thoughtfully so that we can fully participate in God’s work in the world.
