The Bethabara Moravian Food Pantry is an important source of food assistance in the church’s neighborhood. Averaging 40 families a month at the end of 2022 (an increase of 12 to 15 families over the prior four months), the Pantry serves the immediate area as well as some people from southern Forsyth County.
Thanks to your generous gifts to the Moravian Hunger & Thirst Field of Interest Fund, Bethabara received a $5,000 grant for its Food Pantry in August 2022. The Pantry applied the funds for the September through December openings, using approximately $500 each month to provide fresh food and staples.
Phillip Sapp, head of property for Bethabara, shared, “Volunteers from the Pantry have been seeking out the best prices for these food stuffs, a best-bang-for-the-buck scenario.”
Bethabara’s Food Pantry also receives donations from local churches and Boy Scout groups.
The church will use a portion of the grant they received to build a Little Pantry Box. They hope to have it finished by mid-February.
